Lucky Penny Day: A Ceremony of Found Fortunes
Saturday, May 23rd | 2:00 PM – Sunset
The Lore
May 23rd is National Lucky Penny Day! A day for the seekers and the superstitious. At Iola, we’re ditching the "hope for the best" vibe and opting for "create our own luck." Based on the old-school belief that copper wards off the heavy shit and invites the light, we’re throwing open the gates to celebrate the "heads-up" moments in life.
The Grown-Up Fair
Think of it as the island fair you remember, but evolved. We’ve traded the cheap carnival clatter for a sprawling, sun-drenched fete across the Great Lawn and the high-grass Meadows. No canopies, no sequesters, no boring corners.
Relax: Go rogue. Explore the winding paths and the wilder edges of the property. Find the "lucky" surprises we’ve tucked into the spring growth, or just find a quiet spot to exist.
Gather: The celebration spans the full horizon. We’re filling the air with more than just garden scents:
The Residency: Sativa is the heartbeat of the day. They aren't stuck behind a bar; they’re the nomadic lifeblood of the party, pouring signature botanical spirits under the open sky.
The Edge: Pop-up art that actually says something and live tattoos under the sun. Come for the vibes, stay for the permanent ink.
The Play: Grown-up lawn games (the competitive kind) and storytelling that actually matters.
Refresh: Drink the copper, eat the garden. From sunset cocktails to seasonal fare from our favorite food partners, the entire property is your dining room.
The Spirit
Bring a penny for the wishing well, a token for a friend, or just your own wild self. Whether you’re here for the ink, the meadow air, or a chance encounter that changes your week…may you leave feeling a little luckier than you arrived.
